Life After Graduate School

Happy Saturday everyone!

I’ve been having a blissful day filled with a whole lotta nothing around here. In fact, my day has looked mostly like this:

My semester has officially winded down. Thursday night I went to my very. last. class. It was very surreal and felt even more so when the rest of my classmates ended class with a congratulatory applause for the one’s of us who are graduating.

And so, with the only thing left to do is to walk on stage, I find myself wondering what I am going to do with all of my free time, besides scoping out Jenson Ackles of course.  I definitely have a “back-burner” list of things that I have been wanting to do for a long time. Here are just a few!

1. Community Outreach. One of the things I love about my hometown is that we have such an active community. Now that I have more time, I definitely want to give back and get involved. Just today, one of my coworkers who serves on the alumni board for the University of the Cumberlands (where I got my Bachelor’s) ask if I would be interested in serving as well. Of course, I said Heck Yeah! I am excited to see what other opportunities there might be out there to get involved, as well.

2. Health and Exercise. As you all know, I am an enthusiast when it comes to health and exercise. Unfortunately, a lot of times my “me” time has taken a backseat to school projects, attending classes, and studying. So, I cannot wait to be able to get back in the groove and start taking better care of myself.

3. Sport Psychology? NASM? That being said, because my passion does rests in Health and Fitness, I am also very interested in seeing how I can combine this passion with my counseling skills. This might involve getting certified in Sport Psychology or for my personal training certification, so as you can imagine, I don’t have any interest at the moment in hitting the books anytime soon. But I intend to research this idea further, and hopefully a new business venture will be born!

4. Reading! My wish list has been accumulating endlessly of the books that I would like to read. I have been so overwhelmed by my textbooks, the sheer thought of picking up a book to read for fun has been out of the question. I definitely have a lot of catching up to do!

My Goodreads wish list:

The Woman in BlackThe Hangman's Daughter (The Hangman's Daughter #1)The Dark Monk (The Hangman's Daughter, #2)War Horse (War Horse, #1)Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2)Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3)Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1)The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)                                The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2)The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Millennium, #3)Midnight Sun (Twilight #1.5)Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)
5. Traveling.  I love to travel. Even though I have been very few places, and never outside of the country, this definitely ranks on my list of things that I hope to be doing now that I’m not longer glued to my computer writing research papers. Some of the places I would like to see include: Ireland, California, and Alaska!
Our trip to Colorado in 2012.
 6. Organize! Something that is desperately needed around here. Seriously people, if you could see the stack of mail I have on the kitchen counter that needs filing. (Anyone else?) Not to mention, my tupperware cabinet overfloweth. Thank goodness it’s Spring, because Spring Cleaning needs to happen around here in a bad way.
Have a great weekend everyone!
