February Favorites

Hey all,

It’s officially March, so I thought it would be fun to recap February with a Favorites list! Here we go!

Sometime over the past week I heard a story about a female Instagrammer whose photo was deleted from Instagram after it went viral.
The photo depicted Mallory posing in her underwear and flipping off the camera as a message to demonstrate that she does not care what society says she SHOULD look like, but that she is proud of her body, cellulite and all.

This story of course caught my attention and I checked out Mallory’s Instagram and have fell in love with the amount of body positivity she exudes! Her Instagram portrays her own story, her battles with her weight and body image and how she has adapted a more loving attitude towards herself and her body. After my own struggles with body image, these are the types of role models I love to see! Definitely worth following!

2. Spring Weather

February is officially OVER and I don’t know about you, but I am SO READY for Spring this year. It’s so weird, because usually I absolutely LOVE Winter and am sad to see it go, but this year feels different. Maybe it’s the fact that we have had like .00001 inches of snow here in Kentucky and it’s mostly felt like Spring already. Whatever the reason, I’m ready to break out the Spring clothing and get on board with Mother Nature!

3. Self Care Photo

This photo appeared in my Facebook Feed sometime this past month from the American Counseling Association. I thought it was beautiful and something I would love to have blown up and framed. Saving for later for sure!

4. Beyond a Shadow of a Diet

This book is amazing. It is everything I have ever needed to hear and does a great job in helping health professionals learn how to approach clients from a non judgmental approach. The book covers everything from learning why dieting is bad for us both mentally and physically to teaching how to make a complete paradigm shift in how to view weight and body image. It’s everything I’ve ever needed to hear and I highly recommend it to any counselor, dietitian or anyone want to work with eating disordered clients.

5. Couch Cuddles

If you had asked me a year ago if I ever thought this guy could be a cuddler, I would’ve thought NO WAY! He seemed to be so active and always wanting down in the floor to play. I thought he would never be the type to want to relax and cuddle on the couch. But one year later, here we are! 🙂
